About This Event

Environmental advocacy is most effective when it places people, their rights, and their lived experiences at the centre of decision-making.A human rights-based approach recognises environmental defenders and affected communities as rights-holders whose voices, participation, dignity, and access to justice must be respected. This capacity-building session will introduce participants to the principles of human rights-based advocacy and explore how these principles can be applied in environmental protection, community mobilisation, public communication, and policy engagement.Participants will examine how to identify human rights concerns, document violations, engage decision-makers, and develop advocacy strategies that promote accountability and justice.
